lunched at attari sandwich shop on westwood and ohio, with mach and AUDREY KUO finally i get to see you! &then on our way back to the apt we got trapped in the hammer museum cos of the rain, so we wandered into the charles burchfield exhibit.

my favorite piece is “the four seasons.” it’s about as tall as me, done in watercolor and gouache on canvas. i could go on about the surreal fiery glow, the terrace-shapes folding in on themselves, flora coming alive and fauna floating still like vines, the openness of enclosures. but i won’t, because i have friends over, and there simply isn’t time. go see it.

if i work at the koreatown youth and community center, i will get to tutor kids, maybe accompany the admins to meetings with city govt about the GRYD program, and learn a lot about program analysis/at-risk youth and family issues. their office takes about an hour to get to by bus.

L.A. Works said they’d like me to work with them on homelessness and poverty - which i would love learn more about. with them I’d be in charge of my own projects, organizing volunteers and other resources for the nonprofits that need them. i’d get to research homeless and low-income options available (or, more likely, not available) in our lovely city, homeless capital of the nation, but their office is two hours away by bus.
